A Clarkrange man was arrested following a joint investigation by Tennessee Bureau of Investigation fire investigators and the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office into a Monday residential fire in Jamestown. Authorities determined that the fire on N Pointe was intentionally set while two people were inside the home, leading investigators to identify 29-year-old Clifford Thomas Strunk II as the suspect.

Law enforcement secured an arrest warrant for Strunk, who now faces two counts of Aggravated Arson and has been booked into the Fentress County Jail. Officials remind the public that the charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty, while anyone with information on intentionally set fires is encouraged to contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline.
