WOMAN SEVERELY INJURED IN PARKING LOT CRASH LEADS TO UNDERAGE DUI AND TAMPERING ARRESTS
A Saturday night collision in a Crossroads Drive parking lot left a local woman with severe injuries and resulted in multiple arrests, including charges of driving under the influence and tampering with evidence.
According to Crossville Police Department reports, officers responded to Crossroads Dr. on September 26, 2026, at approximately 9:32 PM. Witnesses reported that a black Infiniti, driven by Sibia Abigail Tomas-Lopez, reversed rapidly and struck Megan Cunningham as she was loading her vehicle, pinning her against it before pulling away.
Cunningham sustained a severe right femur fracture and was airlifted from the scene by medical helicopter.
Investigation and Arrests

Driver Impairment: Investigating officers noted an odor of alcohol on Tomas-Lopez’s breath. She performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and refused a blood draw at the scene. Police later secured a search warrant, and a blood sample was obtained at Cumberland Medical Center.

Lack of Credentials: Investigators discovered Tomas-Lopez did not possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license or proof of insurance.

Passenger Interference: A passenger in the vehicle, Victor Flores, was observed handing a black bag to another male in an attempt to hide evidence. When searched, the bag contained a receipt from Jan’s Wine and Liquor and an empty 750ml bottle of tequila purchased hours prior. Flores subsequently failed a preliminary breath test.

Sibia Abigail Tomas-Lopez was charged with vehicular assault, underage driving while impaired, underage consumption of alcohol, driving without a driver’s license, and lack of insurance.
