JOSHUA PYLES ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND RESISTING ARREST AFTER ALLEGED ATTACK

A Cumberland County man is facing felony charges following a violent domestic incident on Sandy Creek Road that left a woman with severe facial injuries.
Joshua Timothy Pyles appeared on the Cumberland County General Sessions Court docket facing charges of aggravated assault (domestic-related) and resisting a stop, arrest, or search without a weapon.
According to an affidavit of complaint filed by Deputy Devyne Templeton, authorities responded to a 911 call regarding a physical domestic disturbance at Sandy Creek Road. Upon arrival, deputies located the female victim seated in the driver’s seat of a red vehicle with a copious amount of blood covering her face.
The victim reported that Pyles had arrived at the residence in a belligerent state, struck her in the face, and placed his hands around her throat. According to the report, the assault continued until a neighbor intervened just before the victim lost consciousness.
Witnesses and the victim pointed out Pyles, who fled the scene on foot. Following a brief pursuit where he ignored commands to stop, Pyles was apprehended by law enforcement and taken into custody with a total bond of $13,500. He is represented by the Public Defender’s office.
