A 45-year-local man is scheduled to appear in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court this week following his arrest earlier this summer for allegedly violating sex offender registration requirements.

Patrick Nicholas Cogan, of Wildwood Lane, was taken into custody on May 26, 2026, by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. According to arrest reports, Deputy Jordan Winningham located Cogan at a flea market on Highway 70 North around 11:30 a.m. after receiving information from Investigator Sarah Smith regarding an active warrant.

Authorities transported Cogan to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, where the warrant for sexual offender registration form violation (TCA 40-39-208) was officially served. He was booked into custody on a $7,500 bond.

His case is officially docketed for court proceedings on October 8, 2026.
