POLICE SEARCHING FOR U-HAUL DRIVER AFTER LATE-NIGHT TACO BELL CRASH IN CROSSVILLE
Local authorities are searching for two bearded men following an early morning incident on October 5, 2026, in which a U-Haul truck struck the Taco Bell on North Main Street and fled the scene.
According to a Crossville Police Department incident report, city units responded to the restaurant at approximately 1:12 a.m. after a caller reported the collision. Witnesses noted that the fleeing U-Haul was occupied by two bearded males.
About twenty minutes later, Officer Ogle located a matching U-Haul parked and unoccupied at Smith’s Auto with scrapes on the upper driver’s side. Investigators discovered a red cooler and a soda can near the vehicle, along with a suspected narcotics pipe found beneath a nearby Ford truck’s front tire.
The U-Haul was towed and placed on hold while police await surveillance footage from both Taco Bell and Smith’s Auto. No suspects have been identified at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
