FENTRESS COUNTY CONSIDERS PURCHASING FORMER NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY FOR SERVICES UPGRADE
According to Fentress County Executive Jacob Rosenbaum, the National Guard Armory in Jamestown has officially closed and is currently up for sale. While the City of Jamestown held the first right of refusal, they opted not to pursue the acquisition, leaving Fentress County to explore a potential purchase pending an official property appraisal.
Although the timeline for the appraisal remains uncertain, it is anticipated to be completed by the end of the calendar year. The facility, which has seen no active personnel since September and has been used only periodically for training, is being evaluated as a potential site to upgrade various county services.
