Bledsoe County emergency services are mourning the loss of Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and rescue worker Ryan Angel, who passed away following a period of health issues.

Angel dedicated two decades of his life to serving the community. His career in local emergency services began in 2006 as a driver for Bledsoe County Emergency Medical Service in Pikeville before he advanced his education to become an AEMT. Throughout his career, he also served as a member of the Pikeville Volunteer Fire Department and worked thousands of calls alongside the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad.

Colleagues remembered Angel not just as a coworker, but as a devoted family member who was always ready to answer the call when community members needed help the most. Outside of his extensive service in emergency response, Angel was a dedicated husband and a father to two children.

Local agencies have expressed their deepest condolences and asked the community to keep his wife, children, and entire family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
