CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT AND ATTEMPTED EVASION
A 44-year-old Crossville man was taken into custody early Saturday morning, October 25, 2026, after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement in a silver GMC SUV.
According to an incident report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Tyler Leary was assisting Corporal Aytes on a call for service on Brown Creek Drive at approximately 4:14 AM when a silver GMC SUV crested a hill traveling at a high rate of speed.
Deputy Leary attempted to initiate a traffic stop by activating his emergency blue lights and siren, but was initially unable to catch up to the vehicle due to its excessive speed. Deputies searched the area and subsequently located the vehicle parked at a residence on Brown Creek Drive.
The driver was identified as George Reed Morgan, 44, who reportedly admitted to operating the vehicle.
Morgan was arrested at 5:48 AM and transported to the Cumberland County Intake facility. He faces charges of evading arrest and reckless driving, with a court date scheduled for November 23, 2026. His total bond was set at $14,000.
