JENNIFER MENDOZA ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES AFTER TRAFFIC STOP ON SHADBERRY DRIVE
A 33-year-old Crossville woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges following an October 30 traffic stop on Shadberry Drive.
According to Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office incident reports, Deputy Zeth Bolin pulled over a grey vehicle around 8:00 p.m. for failing to display a license plate. During the stop, the driver was speaking with deputies while the passenger, Jennifer Ann Mendoza, was observed leaning over in the passenger seat and partially concealing herself.
After the driver was permitted to step out of the vehicle to work on his car, K9 Deputy Holden Atkinson arrived on the scene. A K9 unit was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the area underneath the passenger seat—where Mendoza had been seated—revealed a black bag containing various drug paraphernalia, including a loaded syringe, empty syringes, straws, lighters, marijuana, rolling papers, and a spoon with residue.
Deputies also recovered two clear bags from underneath the seat:
-
Approximately 0.48 grams of a white powder believed to be fentanyl.
-
Approximately 27.18 grams of a white crystal-like substance packaged to imitate methamphetamine (counterfeit controlled substance).
Mendoza was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the Cumberland County Jail. She has been booked on charges of manufacturing, delivering, selling, or possessing a counterfeit controlled substance, simple possession, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her court appearance is scheduled for November 30, 2026, with a total bond set at $20,000.
The seized substances have been secured for testing by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
