ROANE COUNTY SEES QUIET WEEKEND DESPITE HOUSE CRASH, BICYCLE ACCIDENT, AND I-40 MULTI-VEHICLE WRECK

By Dudley Evans –
Roane County experienced a relatively quiet weekend for emergency services overall, though a series of scattered weather-related and traffic incidents kept local crews busy.
On Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m., emergency responders rushed to 180 Post Oak Valley Road after a vehicle crashed directly into a home. According to emergency radio traffic, a female occupant was trapped inside the vehicle but fortunately sustained no injuries. The Roane County Sheriff’s Department responded and managed the scene.
Earlier in the weekend, the Rockwood Police Department responded to an accident on North Gateway Avenue, directly in front of O’Reilly Auto Parts, involving a vehicle that struck a bicyclist. While the official accident report was still pending at the time of publication, early indications suggest the bicyclist did not suffer serious injuries. Updates will be provided as more details are released.
Despite persistent rain showers throughout Sunday, Interstate 40 remained relatively clear, with only a single reported crash. The multi-vehicle collision involved three cars in the westbound lanes near the 359-mile marker, though authorities confirmed no injuries resulted from the incident.
