COSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL INVESTIGATES NEW TDOT TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE GRANT
There may be hope for Crossville’s aging Main St. sidewalk and infrastructure problem after all. The downtown sidewalk project has been batted around like a ping-pong ball, centering on a Main Street paving project from the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation that is not scheduled to happen until 2020. At this week’s City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem JH Graham brought to light a Transportation Alternative Program Grant from TDOT that would help with repair on pedestrian and bicycle right-of-ways, pedestrian signals and street lights. The 80/20 match grant would not include the redesign of the Lantana Road/ Main Street intersection. It would also include the rehabilitation of the downtown depot. The council asked for a full report on the subject at their next work session.
