CROSSVILLE K-9 OFFICER STABBED AFTER HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

A K-9 officer was stabbed Wednesday morning in an incident which took place in Cumberland County. Reportedly, Crossville Police were pursuing a male suspect in an alleged stolen semi-truck around 4:20 AM when the driver crashed into a wooded area off Genesis Rd. The suspect then fled the area on foot. It was then that K-9 Officer Cain was sent after the suspect. Cain’s handler, Officer Bart Riden said that the K-9 returned to him with multiple stab wounds. The dog received emergency treatment and as in stable condition. Investigators say the suspect was taken into custody but has not been identified as yet.
