DECEASED PERSON IDENTIFIED IN FISKE HEIGHTS IN HARRIMAN, CONSIDERED PERSON OF INTEREST IN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

A person authorities considered a “serious” subject of interest in the homicide of a man who was found last week in Harriman was found deceased yesterday (Tuesday, August 8, 2017). According to the Harriman Police Department, officers were called to an Irwin Drive residence in Fiske Heights where the body of Sam Northern was discovered in his living room. Authorities say Northern had not been heard from since last Sunday afternoon (August 6, 2017). Officers say there was no signs of foul play, no obvious signs of trauma or other evidence to support a homicide at the scene where Northern was found. An autopsy was performed today that did not provide any new reasons to rule the death as a criminal homicide. The final determination of the cause of death will be made after a toxicology report comes back. Authorities say Northern was considered a person of interest in the death of David Smith at a Bennett Circle residence. Although that investigation into Smith’s death is still pending the results of evidence collected at the Northern residence, the Harriman Police Department is not actively searching for any other suspects.
