TENNESSEE RANKS 17TH AT BEING WORST STATE FOR TEACHERS

According to a new report, Tennessee ranks 17th at being the worst state in the nation for teachers. Wallethub says that education jobs are some ogf the lowest paying that require a bachelor’s degree and that the salaries are not consistent with keeping up with inflation. They say that job pressures of a demanding nature, low pay and lack of mobility force many in the profession to quit not long after they begin. The National Center for Education Statistics says a fifth of all new teachers leave their positions before the end of their first year, and nearly half don’t last more than five years. They say that New Jersey ranks at the top of the list with Hawaii at the bottom.
