TRIAL DATE SET FOR WOMAN CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE

Two women charged with homicide appeared in Cumberland County Criminal Court yesterday (Monday, November 6, 2017). Court officials say 36-year-old Meghan Wilson faces vehicular homicide and DUI charges in connection with the May 18, 2017 accident on Highway 127 North that claimed the life of 46-year-old John V. Rowe of Deer Lodge, Tennessee. In court yesterday, the judge set a return date of January 16, 2018. In the case of 30-year-old Samantha Denise Farley, she faces criminal negligent homicide in the death of her 7-year-old son, Tyler Frederick McBride. The charge stems from a January 25, 2016 incident in which Farley allegedly left four children in a vehicle unattended while she went a Verizon Wireless store in Crossville to pay a bill. Officers say Farley allegedly left a loaded firearm in her purse in the vehicle. One of the children got the firearm and McBride was accidentally shot. In court yesterday, the judge set a trial date of March 13, 2018.
