Billy Joe Lawson, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home in Rockwood. He was a member of Eagle Furnace Baptist Church. Billy worked as a yard foreman for Scandlyn Lumber company for 30 plus years. Survivors Include children: Rose Dowker of Rockwood, Debra Wilkerson (David) of Rockwood, Mike “Fuzzy” Lawson (Lisa) of Rockwood, and Robert Lawson (Sharon) of Cleveland, Tennessee; daughter-in-law: Sherry Lawson of Cleveland, Tennessee; sisters: Ann Horner of Westel, Tennessee and Dorothy Allen of Rockwood; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Mortuary. Interment and graveside service will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.
