An Oliver Springs man was taken into custody by Roane County deputies yesterday on eight violations of the sex offender registry. Deputies transported 56-year-old Gary Wayne Pierce to the Roane County jail and initially placed him under $6,000 bond. According to the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, Pierce was convicted in 1998 of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
