TWO CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED BURGLARY OF CRESTON ROAD HOME
Early Tuesday morning, deputies responded to reports of someone entering a Creston Road home with a shotgun, making death threats against the resident. According to reports, 19-year-old Caleb Michael McBroom of Crossville was wielding a shotgun and 19-year-old Micah Taylor Barnes, also of Crossville, entered with a pit bull. Both men reportedly made reference to marijuana use and, “stated that if there was any trouble for them, they would come back to kill” the resident. Both men then allegedly left. They were found hiding in bedrooms at the home of McBroom’s girlfriend’s mother, who allegedly had ended her engagement to the man whose home they entered. According to reports, McBroom claimed the man owed his girlfriend’s mother $2,000 and he “just went to ask him when he was going to pay her back.” Barnes and McBroom were charged with aggravated burglary and each initially placed under $10,000 bond.
