Yesterday, Cumberland County deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in a gravel parking lot near the 1900 block of Peavine Road. Officers apparently observed a used syringe on the floor board of the car occupied by 36-year-old William Allen Smith of Fentress County. Smith was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of a drug paraphernalia.
