William Howard Walker, 86, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. William was born November 10, 1930 in Steubenville, OH to the late Howard Walker and Mary Whalen Walker. He was a man who loved God and a man who loved people. A natural exhorter, Bill went out of his way to encourage people, strangers and friends alike. He was charming and loved by all who knew him.

A salesman by nature, Bill owned Bargain Signs which he ran with his brother Ron in Florida.  Bill was on WAEW Radio in Crossville, TN for several years known as “Colonel Bill” and had owned a printing company there.

Bill was a loving husband to his wife Lynda, they were together for 55 years. A great dad, poppy, brother and friend, Bill was also a singer, actor, storyteller, prayer warrior, confidant, and political analyst. The world was a better place because Bill was in it and he will be sorely missed.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.  The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Surviving: wife, Lynda Hammons Walker; daughter, Krystl Walker Newton and husband Jeff of Knightdale; son, Brendon Walker and wife Susan of FL; grandchildren: Madyson and Ben Newton; brother, Ronald Walker and wife Jacqueline of FL.
