A LOOK AT THE 11 CANDIDATES FOR THE DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS POSITION IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
The Cumberland County Board of Education will hold a work session this Thursday and a possible special called meeting to follow. The purpose is to establish the procedures for upcoming interviews for the director of schools position. Current Director of Schools Janet Graham’s contract will expire June 20, 2020. Four local candidates, Dan Schlafer, Darrell Threet, Scott Maddox and Ina Maxwell. will be interviewed first then the remaining seven candidates will follow.
Qualified candidates had to submit the following to be considered:
- A formal letter of interest
- A current resume, including accomplishments by position
- A copy of the candidate’s Tennessee license and certifications
- University transcripts
- Names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers of five (5) professional references
Qualifications for director of schools includes, but not limited to, possessing a professional educator’s license in Tennessee, a master’ degree in education, at least three years of successful experience in school administration, and other qualifications as the school board deems desirable.
