A MAN’S JOURNEY OF LOVE THROUGH CUMBERLAND CO. TO RAISE MONEY FOR ST. JUDE
If you have traveled Highway 70 East in Cumberland County in the last 24 hours, chances are you saw a man pushing a buggy with a sign saying “Walking Across America for St. Jude’s.”
This man is Mario Landeros and on April 22, 2019, he started his journey called “Operation Cheer” walking across the United States from Boston, Massachusetts to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The 3,500 plus miles trek will take him through Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, Tennessee (where he will be visiting St. Jude), Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally arrive in Hermosa Beach, California. A tent, sleeping bag, mobile phone, and a few supplies are the only things Mario is carrying with him on this act of love for children battling cancer at St.Judes.
Mario should be nearing Crossville late today and continue pressing west on Highway 70 towards White County tomorrow.
The mission is to raise $100,000 for St. Jude’s.
Mario said there is two ways you can support his journey
You can support St. Jude by donating to his fundraiser at:

Donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation goes directly to St. Jude.
If you’d like to contribute to his personal fund and support him while he is walking across the U.S., visit his website and use contribute button or you can send funds via Paypal to [email protected].
Mario told 1057 News “together we can make an impact on the life of a child. Please take a moment to share any of my social media accounts; the more people know about this fundraiser the more money we can raise for St. Jude’s.”
