A NINE-YEAR-OLD CUMBERLAND COUNTY GIRL DELIVERS MEALS FOR FAMILIES IN NEED

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department had a special visitor today. Nine-year-old Kenzie Parker delivered enough Thanksgiving meals with the trimmings to be distributed to 10 families in need. Kenzie also delivered 55 other meals today to other groups in the county that helps needy families. That is a total of 65 families in need that will have a great Thanksgiving dinner!

Her grandfather, Shawn Denton, said that she works and saves her money all year so that she can be able to help families have a Thanksgiving meal. Mr. Denton then matches whatever she saves and they work with several different groups to provide a Thanksgiving meal to those in need.

This is the 5th year that Kenzie has been involved with helping families.

“Seeing this young lady blessing families at this age warms my heart,” said Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox.
