Unconfirmed reports and information pulled from TDOT’s Smart Way map indicate a three-car head-on accident on Monday on Highway 127 South toward Pikeville at the turn onto Brown Rd.

EMS, Search and Rescue, and helicopters are said to have been on the scene, with one man saying his wife was airlifted to UT Medical Center. That same man said his wife was badly bruised but was able to come home the next day.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident is still under investigation. Once the report is ready, we will update this story with additional details.
