ACCIDENT ON PEAVINE RESULTS IN D.U.I. ARREST
On October 22, 2025, at approximately 3:56 PM, Deputy Kemmer discovered a vehicle accident on the Peavine overpass, which stemmed from a road rage incident on I-40. Officer Jacob Ogle arrived and contacted the driver of the involved Jeep, Matthew Horn, who exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and an open IPA in the center console.
Horn admitted his license was suspended due to a prior DUI. After stumbling upon exiting the vehicle, Horn was transported to the Exxon on Peavine for a standardized field sobriety test, which he consented to. During the test, Officer Ogle noted multiple indicators of impairment, including lack of smooth pursuit, distinct nystagmus at maximum deviation, onset nystagmus before 45 degrees, and vertical nystagmus in both eyes.
Horn was unable to complete the walk-and-turn test, lost balance, and refused further testing, requesting arrest. He was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Jail, where a blood search warrant was granted. Two vials of blood were collected at Cumberland Medical and submitted as evidence.
Dispatch confirmed Horn’s suspended license, and Officer Ogle issued a warrant for driving under the influence.
