More information has been released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on a fatal single vehicle accident which occurred near Oliver Springs Monday. 50-year-old Scott Begley of Harriman was traveling west on Harriman Highway 61near Qualls Rd, when his Ford F-150 pickup left the roadway and traveled down a 200 feet embankment. The vehicle ran across a set of railroad tracks and came to an uncontrolled stop. The truck sustained only minor damage, but Begley was later pronounced dead after being taken to Methodist Medical Center. According to the investigating trooper’s report, it appears that Begley’s death was due to a medical condition and not as a result of the crash.
