A Blount County man was taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect in a lake.

The arrest report states 25-year-old Brandon Michael Aguirre, 25, sped away from an Alcoa police officer, weaving in and out of traffic and nearly causing several crashes.

The pursuit ended on Topside Road, where Aguirre hit guardrail and landed in the lake.

Aguirre got out of his vehicle and tried to swim away from shore. That is when deputies borrowed a boat from a nearby fisherman and later captured Aguirre.

Aguirre was arrested for reckless endangerment, evading arrest and theft of property.
