Joel Riley Hawes, age 65, of Rockwood, passed away August 31, 2018 at his home. He was born October 22, 1952 in Rockwood. Joel was of the Baptist faith and a United States Air Force Veteran. He was retired from TVA Watts Bar as a Hydro Technician and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rockwood and Kingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; Riley & Eula Hawes, sister; Barbara Ledbetter.

Survivors Include his sons: Jake Hawes (Alice) of Crossville and Josh Hawes (Miranda) of Rockwood; daughter: Jessica Erin Tollett (Nathan) of San Antonio, Texas; 6 grandchildren; brothers: John Hawes of Rockwood, James Hawes of Rockwood, and Douglas Hawes of Rockwood; and a host of nieces and nephews. Cremation plans have been made.
