AGGRAVATED BURGLARY REPORTED AT DIXON ROAD HOME IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Monday afternoon, Cumberland County deputies responded to a burglary report at a Dixon Road home. The homeowner, who had been away for the past two months, returned home to find thousands of dollars’ worth of belongings missing from his home, detached garage and a storage building.

The glass panel from a side door to the home had been removed, and a lock cut off the storage building. The lock on the garage appeared to have been jimmied. Additionally, phone lines in the home had been cut, and an unsuccessful attempt to enter the home had been made through a rear window, whose screen had been slashed.

Items stolen include a gaming-computer monitor, a Gibson custom guitar, an 800-watt amp, powered yard tools, and sporting equipment. Total value of the missing items is approximately $11,000.

A suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
