ALABAMA’S COLONIAL PIPELINE EXPLOSION KILLS 1, FORCES MAIN LINE TO BE SHUTDOWN

Tennesseans can expect gasoline prices to jump again in the next few days following an explosion which occurred Monday along the Colonial Pipeline in Alabama, not far from the place where the same pipe burst just a few weeks ago. The company says that one person died at the scene and five others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. The main lines were closed down immediately afterward. Reports at the scene said that a large plume of fire and smoke shot into the air with nearby residents being evacuated by emergency personnel. Officials have said that the fire has been contained and will be allowed to burn itself out. However, they did not state how the incident would affect the availability of gasoline. In September, the pipeline leaked over 300,000 gallons of gas causing dry fuel pumps and price spikes across several southern states.
