ALGOOD OFFICIALS NOT “RUSHING” TO HIRE NEW POLICE CHIEF
Algood Officials say they are not in a rush to hire a new police chief anytime soon. City Administrator Keith Morrison wants to see a vacant seat filled on the city council first. He says that “the council needs to be up to full capacity so that everything in the matter is handled wisely.” Jennifer Green resigned from the council in March after a controversy arose allegedly involving her with a former city police officer. Also in March, former police chief Gary Harris was fired after audio and video tapes surfaced of Harris performing inappropriate acts. Bryant Swallows is serving as the interim police chief.
