ALMOST 250,000 MINIFRIDGES RECALLED; FIRE HAZARD

On June 18, 2025, approximately 249,100 AstroAI 4-Liter/6-Can minifridges were recalled due to an electrical switch defect that can cause short circuits, posing fire and burn hazards. The recalled units, identified by model number LY0204A and specific serial numbers starting with 19, 20, 21, 2201, 2202, or 2203, were sold online at Amazon.com and Astroai.com from June 2019 to June 2022 for about $40.

Consumers should immediately stop using these minifridges, which come in colors like black, white, blue, and pink, and contact AstroAI at 877-278-7624 or [email protected] for a free replacement. To receive a replacement, consumers must submit a photo of the minifridge showing the model and serial number with “Recalled” written on it and dispose of the unit per local regulations.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported 70 incidents of smoking, burning, melting, or fires, including two fires causing over $360,000 in property damage.

The minifridges were manufactured in China by Shaoxing ShangYu North Electron Manufacture Co. Ltd. and imported by AstroAI Corp. of Garden Grove, California.
