ANIMAL AB– USE INVOLVING TWO HORSES REPORTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Cumberland County investigators are looking into a case of animal abuse. Officers, along officials with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, were called to an area off Pomona Road where two horses were found to be nearly skin and bones. The horses were rated a 1 and a 2 on a scale of 1 to 9 by the State Department of Agriculture. According to the livestock welfare examination form, the score of the body condition of both horses was not indicative of reasonable health for the species and malnutrition was a major health issue. A suspect was named in the report.
