AREA FIRE DEPARTMENTS TO RECEIVE STATE GRANTS
The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance and the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) announced that 196 Tennessee Volunteer Fire Departments will receive grants totaling $10 million through the Volunteer Firefighter Equipment and Training Grant Program.
The 2024 grants totaling $10 million is the largest amount yet for the program since its launch in 2020.
SFMO officials reported that they received 301 applications from Tennessee fire departments.

Anderson County Volunteer Fire Department
Bledsoe County Government (Mt. Crest Fire Department)
Fentress County Fire Department
Meigs County Volunteer Emergency Services
Pickett County Government (Byrdstown)
Rhea County Fire Department
South Roane County Volunteer Fire Department
Wartburg Volunteer Fire Department
