ARREST MADE AFTER BLOODY ALTERCATION IN FAIRFIELD GLADE
Cumberland County deputies responded this week to a home on Kingsbury Circle in Fairfield Glade to a disturbance.
They made contact with a female victim who was physically assaulted allegedly by 79-year-old Paul Anthony Palumbo. The victim said she was attacked in their residence. The victim attempted to call 911, but Palumbo took her phone.
He reportedly followed her out of the dwelling, began to slam her head into the pavement, and kicked her in the head.
She was eventually able to get away from Palumbo after biting him. She ran to a neighbor’s home to get help.
Deputies noted injuries to the victim including two black eyes, dried blood near the corner of her mouth, multiple bruises on her body, and bloody bruises on the top and rear of her head. She went by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Later the same day, an officer notified dispatch he arrested Palumbo after locating the suspects’ vehicle.
He was charged with felony aggravated assault and preventing another from placing a 911 call. Deputies took Palumbo to the Cumberland County jail.
