The Monterey Police Department announced today an arrest has been made in a recent shooting. Officers were called earlier this month to a home on Garrett Avenue to a disturbance involving shots fired. Questioning of several bystanders revealed a verbal altercation between several intoxicated neighbors began at the dead end of the road.  The situation escalated as a man brandished a handgun and fired several shots towards his neighbors who fled down the roadway. No one was injured .

After further investigation, Felipe De Jesus Rico Yepez was taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Justice Center where he was held on a $46,750 bond. Further charges are still pending .
