The Tennessee Highway Patrol says charges are pending stemming from a fatal vehicle crash in Roane County. Troopers say a 1989 GMC pickup driven by 49-year-old John Sexton of Rockwood was traveling on the 1600 block of Pumphouse Road when he lost control in a curve. The truck left the road and struck a tree resulting in the vehicle coming to rest on its top. A passenger in the truck, 55-year-old Eugene Smith of Rockwood, was killed. Sexton sustained injuries in the crash.
