BAXTER WOMAN CHARGED WITH INTRODUCING CONTRABAND INTO CUMBERLAND COUNTY JAIL
A Baxter woman has been charged with introducing contraband into the Cumberland County Jail. According to the report, a BOLO had been issued for a black Honda Civic involved in a possible robbery in Rickman. A vehicle matching the suspected car was stopped by officers on I-40 East at mile marker 312. The driver of the Civic was 27-year-old Leslie Michelle Mathaney of Baxter. Mathaney reportedly refused to talk about a robbery but during the investigation, a K-9 Officer hit on two bags containing methamphetamine which had been inside a Cheetah Case. During a personal search of Mathaney, jail intake officers discovered two syringes, a pipe, and a bag containing 1.7 grams of meth. She faces several charges.
