BEAR KILLED ON I-40 CLOSE TO CROSSVILLE CITY LIMITS
It’s common knowledge that bears have been moving out of their natural habitat and into more populated areas. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has been reporting on increased sightings of the animals across East Tennessee for more than a year. According to reports, a bear was struck and killed by a semi-truck Friday morning in Cumberland County, close to the Crossville city limits. The carcass of the dead animal was discovered along an area of eastbound I-40 near mile marker 324 shortly before 7 AM. The TWRA says that the bears are leaving their homes in order to forage for food and that everyone should cleanup after cookouts and to not leave leftovers and trash around the outside perimeter of homes.
