BEATY ARRESTED AFTER TWO MEN CUT WITH KNIFE DURING ALTERCATION
A Cumberland County man was arrested after two men were cut by a knife during an altercation at a Lake Tansi bar and grill. Officers stopped the suspect, 50-year-old Johnny Brance Beaty of Crossville, after he left the scene in a vehicle. Beaty claimed he was jumped by four males but witness accounts gave a different version of the incident. One victim was taken to the hospital while a second was treated for injuries after Beaty supposedly cut them with a knife. Beaty was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
