BLAZE DESTROYS JAMESTOWN’S HOMETOWN CAFE; FIREFIGHTERS TREATED FOR HEAT EXHAUSTION

A massive early morning fire broke out at the beloved Hometown Cafe on Friday, drawing a heavy response from local emergency crews who battled the flames for hours.

First responders received the emergency call at 3:14 a.m. and arrived on the scene just five minutes later at 3:19 a.m. Upon arrival, crews were met with “heavy fire,” according to Fentress County EMS Director Daniel Coleman.

While officials confirmed that no civilians or emergency personnel were injured in the blaze, the intense conditions took a physical toll on the response team. Several firefighters required medical treatment on-site for heat exhaustion after hours of combating the inferno.

Fentress County officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Director Coleman stated that a formal release providing further details is expected later today.

Following the incident, the owners of Hometown Cafe released a statement expressing deep gratitude for the swift action of local heroes and the surrounding community:

“First and foremost we want to thank every firefighter that has been out fighting this fire since 3:30 this morning. Also, the EMS, city and county police officers and close friends, family and neighbors. They worked hard and did absolutely everything they could do and we greatly appreciate each and every one of you. We’re so very thankful that no one was hurt.”

The restaurant management has asked the community to keep everyone involved in their prayers as they navigate the aftermath of the destruction.
