BLOODY ALTERCATION INVOLVING WOMAN LANDS CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN IN JAIL

While on patrol yesterday, a Cumberland County deputy was flagged down by a man on Davidson Court. He informed the officer a woman was hurt.

The arrest report states once the deputy got inside the home, he observed 59-year-old Gary Allen Phillips standing over a female victim.

She told the officer she was arguing with Phillips when he allegedly struck her with a dog collar. It resulted in a ½ inch laceration just above her left eye, resulting in her being covered with blood.

The deputy noted blood splattered on the kitchen floor and counters, the couch, the living room floor, and end tables.

Phillips reportedly admitted to striking the woman in the head with the dog collar.

Law enforcement arrested Phillips for domestic aggravated assault. He was processed into the Cumberland County jail and placed under a $20,000 bond.

He is scheduled to make his first appearance on the charge in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on March 18, 2024.
