BODIES RECOVERED FROM LAKE CHICKAMAUGA PLANE CRASH
The bodies of a man and woman killed in a small plane crash earlier this week in Hamilton County have been recovered. The main body of the plane was discovered in around 35 feet of water in the Chickamauga Lake. Search crews were said to have used side-scan sonar to locate the anomaly on the lake floor. Both the pilot, Captain Frank Davey, and his passenger, 55-year-old Linda Marinello, were still strapped into their seats. Marinello had been a teacher in Hamilton County for 25 years. Her husband, Chris, says they have been friends with Davey for more than 20 years. Once the craft is removed from the lake, it will be transported to a secure site and detained for investigators to review the wreckage. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will work in collaboration with the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.
