WHITE COUNTY BOE INVESTIGATING CHILD ABUSE ALLEGATIONS AT WOODLAND PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Officials with the White County Board of Education are looking into allegations that a pre-K teacher abused a student at Woodland Park Elementary School. According to sources, the teacher shoved her fingers down a 4-year-old’s throat after the child reportedly stole a piece of pizza from her. The incident is said to have happened in November 2018, but BOE members say they were not immediately informed, per district policy. Board Chair Jayson McDonald says an investigation was started right after the incident was reported. In a prepared statement he said school administrators spent the day (November 8, 2018) conducting interviews with students and employees concerning the matter. The teacher in question has since been terminated and the investigation is continuing.
