A body was found in the Emory River at the railroad overpass off of Riggs Chapel Road in Harriman last night that may have been there a couple of days. A fisherman discovered the body and called authorities. The Roane County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. The body was of a Caucasian male with his age unknown. The deceased was taken to U.T. Medical Center for an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released at a later time.
