An investigation is ongoing by the TBI and the Roane County Sheriff’s Office after the discovery yesterday of a female in a home at 109 Circle Drive near Rockwood.

Crime scene tape was placed around the residence for over 5 hours while the preliminary investigation occurred.

The body was taken to the Knoxville Forensic Center for an autopsy.

The identity of the woman was not initially released.

More information will be released by law enforcement at a later time.
