(BREAKING NEWS) – SHOOTING RESULTS IN INJURY NEAR FAIRFIELD GLADE

(BREAKING NEWS) – Cumberland County deputies responded to a home on the 800 block of Woodlands Circle off of Peavine Road early this morning for a shooting. Initial reports indicate a verbal dispute lead to the victim, 25-year-old Dakota Karge, sustaining a gunshot wound to the foot. Karge was transported to a hospital for treatment. A suspect, 46-year-old Alan Michael Unser, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is as follows:

“On May 20, 2021 at around 12:08 a.m., a call went out that Alan Unser had shot Dakota Karge at the address of 859 Woodlands Circle. While deputies were on the way, dispatch informed them the victim was driving himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot. Upon arrival Fairfield Glade Police Officer Stephanie Penka already had Alan Unser in custody. Law enforcement secured the premises and located a 17-year-old still inside. The juvenile was taken outside. After the residence was secure, officers started their investigation.

Unser gave permission to search the entire property. Law enforcement learned the victim was shot with a .22 caliber revolver. While searching the house, a deputy found a rifle under a mattress located in the suspects bedroom. A check with dispatch revealed Unser is a convicted felon and is not legally allowed to be in possession of a firearm.

The juvenile was interviewed about the events of the evening. He informed officers the suspect and victim drank a lot of alcohol throughout the night. At one point, the two started arguing with each other very loudly so the minor decided to go to his room to avoid the situation. The teen then said after he was in his bedroom he heard a loud pop that sounded like a gunshot and even more screaming then what sounded like people leaving and driving off in a car. The teen came out of his room, saw Unser heading out the door of the home and returned about 30 seconds later.”

End of report.
