BROADBAND GRANT TO IMPROVE INTERNET ACCESS
The State of Tennessee announced the recipients of the latest round of broadband grants today. Ben Lomand (VolFirst) was awarded a matching grant of $1,924,783 to provide service in Cumberland County. The internet provider will be spending a total project cost of $3,924,566 to improve broadband in the county. The grant area covers over 1,125 service points (homes, etc.)
Since February of 2020, approximately $20,486,700 has been allocated to broadband projects in Cumberland County that total approximately 9,125 new home and business locations with current or future access.
