The Tennessee Highway Patrol and first responders went to the scene of a vehicle accident at the 314 eastbound mile marker of I-40 in Cumberland County late yesterday afternoon. The report states a 1999 Chevy Corvette driven by 55-year-old Stephen Brown of Cookeville was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control, went down an embankment and collided with several trees. Brown, who was not restrained, was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Troopers say charges are pending.
