BROWN, PINE VIEW AND SOUTH CUMBERLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY CHOSEN AS TENNESSEE 2017 REWARD SCHOOLS
Cumberland County has three schools which have been included in Tennessee’s 2017 Reward Schools list. Brown Elementary, Pine View and South Cumberland Elementary are included in the list of 169 schools which spans 60 districts across Tennessee. They are also included in the top 5 percent of schools for academic achievement and the top 5 percent for student growth. State Education Commissioner Candace McQueen said, “These schools represent what is possible for students in Tennessee as they exemplify excellence in performance or progress and in some cases, both. Each school has been presented with a banner proclaiming it as a Tennessee 2017 Reward School.
